Terms of Service

Animal, Object or Place ("the Game", "we", "us") is operated by Posh Tonic Ltd. By accessing or using the Game you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

1. The Game

Animal, Object or Place is a daily semantic guessing game. Each day a die roll picks the category (Animal, Object, or Place) and you have a limited number of guesses to solve the puzzle, guided by semantic heat clues. Optional features include a results page, a calendar archive of past puzzles, group rooms with shareable codes, and a leaderboard.

2. Accounts

You may play the Game as a guest or sign in with an email/password account or Google. When you create an account you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• cheat, automate guesses, or use bots, scrapers, or third-party tools to gain an unfair advantage;
• attempt to access, decrypt, or reverse-engineer answers, embeddings, or unreleased puzzles;
• share, post, or publish daily answers in a way that spoils the puzzle for other players;
• upload abusive, harassing, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate content (including display names and avatars);
• interfere with the Game's infrastructure, attempt to overload it, or probe it for vulnerabilities without permission.

We may suspend or remove access, reset scores, or delete content that breaches these terms.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (display name, avatar, guesses, room activity). By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display that content as needed to operate the Game.

5. Intellectual Property

The Game, its branding, puzzles, clues, and underlying software are owned by Posh Tonic Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Game without our written permission.

6. Availability and Changes

We do our best to keep the Game online, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability and may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Daily puzzles, scoring, and clue logic may change as we improve the Game.

7. Disclaimers

The Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Posh Tonic Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Game. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Game will not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Game at any time and delete your account by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if required for legal or safety reasons.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and Posh Tonic Ltd submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any dispute relating to the Game.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify users.
